First thing you have to know is this: Every stitch of clothes you wear, unless you grew the cotton, or sheared your own sheep, spun, carded wove and sewed them yourself..every bite of food you eat, unless you have grown it, raised it and prepared it..every drop of gasoline you use, every car you drive everything you consume, moves by truck.
So why do you keep crapping on us?
Every time you pass on the right, after a truck has moved over to let you out, every time you cut us off just so you could make it to the exit first, every time you come off an exit in front of a truck, at less than the speed limit.(Californicators are especially bad at this!)
Get this! You do /NOT/ have, in ANY state, a right or entitlement to impede traffic by refusing to yield the right of way on an on-ramp. You MUST yield to traffic and merge. If that puts you behind a truck, tough shit.
Here are some numbers for you:
Number of hours one driver may drive in one day=11 in any 14 hour period (and that includes all the unpaid work, like fueling, loading, unloading and inspections) before a ten hour break must be taken.
Number of hours one driver may work in a week 60 in a seven day period or 70 in an 8 day period.
Number of miles driven by one solo driver in a week=up to 4200, average much less, 2500 to 3000.
Average hourly pay=Less than minimum wage.
We don't get overtime. We spend holidays away from home, miss important family events, work long, unusual hours in all kinds of weather. And our labors actually DO contribute to the economy..without trucks, no one else has a job, except scurvy lawyers and other lower than whaleshit professions of like ilk. Can we say politicians?
And who pays the REAL price for this? Our mates and children.
Some states say that we PROFESSIONAL drivers must take a hefty pay cut..California, Oregon, Illinois, Ohio..in these states the PROFESSIONALS are limited to 55 MPH, while you AMATEURS can drive at up to 70. Other states will allow us 60 or 65MPH while fourwheelers can do 70 or 75. Can your lips form the words, 'Revenue Enhancement?'
Well, you Californicators..just how deep in the toilet would your state be without trucks? A lot deeper than your granola politicians have you now. 3 days, no trucks, the store shelves would be empty. 1 day, no trucks, no gas. A week, no trucks, food riots. Think about it. And quit crapping on us. And BTW...CARB sucks.
